The Customs Trade Partnership Against Terrorism (CTPAT) is a certification program where all supply chain participants collaborate with U.S. Customs to develop secure methods for each phase of their operations, aiming to mitigate terrorism and smuggling threats to enhance the security of cross-border movementsin goods imported into the United States.
Partners in Protection (PIP) is a voluntary program from the Canadian Border Services Agency (CBSA) for Canadian company implicated in cross-border movement into Canada to enhance border and supply chain security. Member receive benefits that will expedite cross border clearance.
Based on the Customs-to-Business partnership, the AEO concept encourages traders who voluntarily meet stringent security criteria to work closely with customs authorities. This collaboration is grounded in mutual transparency, correctness, fairness, and responsibility. The AEO program has been pivotal in enhancing international supply chain security across the EU. It is open to all supply chain actors, offering benefits for those authorized for customs simplification, security, and safety, or a combination of both.
